1.1 VMware Deployment

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for deploying the Guardpot virtual appliance within a VMware environment, including cloning the provided image.

Prerequisites

Before beginning deployment, ensure you have:

  • Access to VMware vSphere or ESXi
  • The provided Guardpot virtual machine image
  • Administrative access to the deployment environment

Deployment Procedure

Right-click the provided virtual machine image and select Clone. In the deployment wizard, specify a name for the new virtual machine, then click Next to proceed.

Select the appropriate compute resource for the virtual machine deployment, as shown in Figure 1.1.1-2, then click Next to continue.

Select an appropriate storage destination for the virtual machine installation, as illustrated in Figure 1.1.1-3, then click Next.

Enable the Power on virtual machine after creation option to automatically start the virtual machine once deployment is complete, as shown in Figure 1.1.1-4, then click Next to proceed.

Review the deployment summary in the Ready to Complete section, as shown in Figure 1.1.1-5, then click Finish to finalize the virtual machine deployment.
